For over 10 years, I’ve been a personal fashion consultant in the women’s department at a major department store in Orlando, FL. While much of my writing career has been focused on business reporting, I’ve had a secret love affair with the fashion industry for years. These days, I write for a variety of online publications and blogs, offering fashion tips and practical advice for women of all ages.

I love helping women and teenage girls discover their own personal style. The most rewarding part of this work is finding clothing that not only fits, but truly represents who they are—regardless of my own tastes. It’s all about finding that perfect match, and it’s amazing to see the confidence that comes with it.

This blog is a blend of my daily outfits and tips for making the most out of what you already have in your closet. It’s about being smart with what you’ve got, because let’s be real: we’d all love an endless shopping spree, but that’s just not realistic. Modly Chic is about working with what’s already in your wardrobe, staying current, and looking chic. Over time, the blog has grown beyond fashion and now includes a bit about food, fitness, and fun—making it a full lifestyle blog.

ModlyChic is all about dressing with dignity. There are a lot of inspiring fashion blogs out there, but so many of them seem to focus on exposing more skin or squeezing into clothes that don’t quite fit. I wanted to create a space for women who want to feel fashionable but without sacrificing their comfort or confidence. It’s about looking good while still feeling like yourself.

To be completely honest, fashion wasn’t always something I cared about. In high school, I was the girl who wore the same jeans and hoodie every day, and I didn’t think twice about it. But over time, I realized that what I wore could make a difference—not just in how I looked, but in how I felt about myself. I’ll never forget the first time I got a compliment on an outfit I put together—something clicked in me then. I suddenly understood the power of clothing. It wasn’t about being trendy or flashy—it was about feeling confident, comfortable, and authentic. And that was something I wanted to share with others.

Now, as a mom to my little bugaboo, Elizabeth, I’m even more passionate about dressing with purpose. It’s a constant balancing act between being a teacher, a writer, and a mom, but I’ve learned that taking a little time for myself and putting thought into what I wear helps me feel grounded and ready to take on the world—no matter what the day brings.
