Yay!!! I finally booked my tickets and got everything arranged to attend a symposium in New York City entitled: Fashion Intelligence. The all-day workshop will take place at the Fashion Institute of Technology and has some amazing speakers headlining as well as some really interesting break out panels. And I’m not just saying that because I am going to be speaking on the How to Start a Blog panel.
The symposium is meant to ‘increase knowledge and appreciation of the fashion industry, and to create a network of students and young professionals interested in this field.’
For all my New York City blogger friends, this is one symposium you won’t want to miss! The price tag is pretty great too. For those under 30, it is $60 to attend. Those over 30 will need to pay $120. That price includes the all-day conference as well as breakfast and lunch.
Speakers include:
- Paloma Diaz-Soloaga - Style Trends
- Joan Volpe - Fashion Industry 101
- Karinna Nobbs - Building Brands via Social Networks
- Janice Chik Breidenbach - Beauty Inside Out
- Teri Agina - Fashion Journalism
Break-out sessions include:
- Would you like to be an image consultant?
- Executive presence training.
- How to start a blog.
- What it’s really like to work at a magazine?
- Is a degree in fashion for me?
- Become a fashion buyer.
