I don’t usually like anything on my feet. I’ve always preferred to be barefooted than in socks or shoes - I guess that’s just the way I grew up. But recently I moved into a place that has mostly wood or tile floors, which means in the morning, when I’m jumping out of bed and trudging to the kitchen for coffee, the floors are cold. Honestly, I debated getting slippers for a couple months because to me they always seemed like an old lady type of thing. And given my penchant to avoid all things on my feet, I always assumed I wasn’t a slipper girl.
But then I got to try the adorable animal-print Juniper Slipper from Vionic Shoes and I am converted! They are comfy and warm like slippers, but they are created to feel more like shoes with a rubber sole. I have no problem and no worries about wearing them out of the house to grab the newspaper in the morning, or drag the trashcans to the curb. Plus they don’t slip and slide all over the wooden floors in my room, which could be a serious safety hazard early in the morning before my second (or third) cup of coffee.
The Juniper Slipper comes covered in three other materials if animal print isn’t your thing. (Who doesn’t love leopard print?!) They are sold in a classic black, chestnut and a red plaid (perfect for the holiday season). These cute slippers retail for $79.95.
For those that worry about support, the slippers come with the same Orthaheel Technology as all of the Vionic Shoes products.
