You Ought to Put a Ring On It

I was sent a ring from Anjolee in order to offer my personal opinion about the company and products. All opinions are my own.

A little over 7 years ago, my parents bought me a ring that I wear almost daily. It was meant to mark a life moment and personal commitment I made years before that.

I remember the first days I wore the white gold and aquamarine ring - I was afraid of ruining it. I felt like I babied my left hand for weeks. I hit the ring up against the car window as I reached out to make a deposit at the bank and internally freaked out that maybe I had cracked the stone. It was fine. I worried the first time I wore it to the beach that it would fall off in the water. I worried in the winter time when my fingers got skinnier and the ring easily spun around and around on my finger.

I’m sure every woman worry about the same things with her engagement ring - perhaps even more so, considering what that little piece of jewelry represents and the cost that goes into it.

This concern always had me thinking how nice it would be to have a duplicate, cheaper, but still good looking ring to slip on when at the gym or relaxing on the beach. That way I could still wear the ring, but not be constantly worried about losing it or ruining it. (Although I have realized a good-quality ring is a lot sturdier that you might think.) Well, Anjolee has this really great service, where they will make you a replica of the engagement ring you order through the company. Anjolee uses silver and cubic zirconia or a gemstone to create a version of the ring that you don’t have to worry about. If the cubic zirconia isn’t your style, they offer gemstones in amethyst, topaz, garnet, peridot and citrine.

I used their service to make a basic replica of the ring I usually wear, utilizing a silver band and the topaz gemstone. More and more I find myself reaching for this ring when heading out for a day at the beach or on a long marathon training run. It makes me feel like my ring is still there, while taking away all the stress of losing or harming it.

That is such a great idea! Not that my engagement ring is going anyplace these days - my knuckles have swollen/gotten knobbly, so I can’t get it off anyway (thanks arthritis).

However, I can see the value of something like this…
