A week from yesterday the 2014 Spring Fashionista Giveaway Event will begin! In order to gear up for this exciting event, I’ll spend the next week previewing the amazing companies I’m working with for the giveaway and the companies that have agreed to be Main Event sponsors.

It’s always amazing to me how year after year, season after season something as basic as sunglasses or dress heels can be re-vamped, re-styled and re-created to be something a little new, a little different. These Ray-Ban CATS 5000 from Sunglasses Shop have been a favorite of mine for two years now. I have them in a brown (light havana) and have used them as my go-to pair of shades in all four seasons.

Now Ray-Ban has used the same great frame and shape but updated the look with the matte transparent mirrored colored lenses, which are the current ‘on-trend’ look for sunnies this Spring. I love the vibrant yet unexpected color of these beauties.

The mirrored glass makes for a bold statement and some funny interactions with people as they can see their reflection in the glass while talking to you. I had one girl fixing her hair in the glass while talking to me - comical, to say the least. I suppose they could be used to apply your lipstick or check that your eyeliner hasn’t smudged. Forget the compact mirror when you have these around.

And no, the color does not come through on the other side. When you wear these sunglasses they look and feel just like any other pair.
