It’s Friday and another moment for FBFF.
Today Kirstin and I are talking about secret beauty tips. We’re sharing the products we use that might be a little out of the ordinary.
Kirstin Marie: One of my favorite beauty tips is to use eye shadow in place of eyebrow powder. I prefer using brow powder versus brow pencils. It looks more natural, and blends well. Finding specialized brow powder can be very expensive. Using a great quality eye shadow is an excellent stand in for brow powder when you are in a bind.
Me: I like using one item for multiple purposes. Afterall, it saves money and many beauty products can have multiple uses. For example:
- EyeShadow - like Kirstin, at times I use my eye shadow as an eyebrow filler. I’ll also use it as an eye liner with a stiff angled brush.
- Baby Powder - Not just for the little ones. I use baby powder at night as a dry shampoo alternative. I also use a small amount in my summer shoes to keep my feet from sweating and sticking in the heat.
- Concealer - I use it under my eyes, but I also use it at times as a lid primer so my eyeshadow doesn’t crease, as well as a lip primer so that my lipstick is long lasting throughout the day.

I love using hair oils, but the salon one’s can be so expensive, I think my last one cost over £30! When I read I the list of ingredients, there were a lot of unnecessary things in them, and some of them not that good for you?
I now buy organic macademia nut oil from the health store, and it’s doing amazing things to my hair…..But, the best bit is, you get a huge bottle, which I also use on my skin, plus I can use it in recipe’s too, and all for under £10! (P.S. I keep mine in the fridge). I think this qualifies as a multi-tasker! xx
