While I did blog more in June than I have any other month this year, I’m still doing more micro-blogging on Instagram so here is a list of my 10 favorite things from the month of June, which may or may not have made it into a full post on the blog. And yes, I realized July is half over and I am only now getting to my June favorites. What can I say? Life gets in the way sometimes.
ONE:: Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara
For years I have been a one-mascara girl. I love and swear by the DiorShow mascara. It is amazing But then I got to try this Givenchy Mascara thanks to an Influenster box and I can now safely say that I am a two-mascara gal. I now switch between these two throughout the week and can’t decide which I like better.
TWO:: Pixi Peel & Polish
This little tube makes my skin feel AMAZING. I’m especially loving the Pixi Peel & Polish this summer when my face takes a beating in the sun and the sweat. I’ve been using this about two times a week, after cleansing, to give my face a more polished and clean look and feel.
THREE: Powder Point Beach
Since I was on vacation out in Massachusetts most of June, this beach was where I spent a whole lot of time. While I am not, nor do I think I will ever be, someone who enjoys swimming in the ocean, lounging on the beach is totally my thing. One day I walked nearly 4 miles to the end of the beach where a little town and lighthouse sits. So worth the walk.
FOUR:: Olay Daily Facial cloths
You might have seen the blog post, but these have changed my face cleansing game. I ran out of the complimentary box Olay sent me and immediately ordered more because I love how easy and awesome these little cloths are. Seriously, these Olay Daily Facial cloths are a game-changer.
FIVE:: Farfars Danish Icecream
While on vacation I went here a few too many times - but hey, it’s vacation right?! This little mom and pop store is an establishment in the little town and they make all the icecream right there on location. The flavors are awesome too. This time around I think it was a toss up between the coffee and peanut butter flavors. Nomnom. If you follow along on Instagram, you saw a number of these pics show up on my stories.
SIX:: Summer Braids
With a little more time to spend getting ready in the mornings since I wasn’t rushing out of the door to get to work, I got to working instead on new braid combos. This triple braid look is one of my favorite creations. It looks a little fierce Viking chick, right?
SEVEN:: Brewery Tours with History
I’m a sucker for a craft brewery tour, so while on vacation I went to the Mayflower Brewery in Plymouth, MA. It was awesome because not only is it located in a historic part of the world, but the owner has ties back to the original Mayflower and the brewery makes traditional British style beer, the kind the pilgrims drank on their way here.
EIGHT:: The Zoo Keeper’s Wife
I read a number of books during the month of June - 4 to be exact. Of those the book I loved the most was The Zoo Keeper’s Wife. This is a nonfiction book about, yup, a zoo keeper’s wife who together with her husband helped save over 300 people from Warsaw during World War II by hiding them in their zoo. It’s pretty epic. If you haven’t read it I highly recommend. And if you aren’t a fan of nonfiction, for the most part it reads much more like a fiction book than some stuffy biography.
NINE:: Erin Condren LifePlanner
This already has become my life! The adorable planner, all the cute add-ons, the gorgeous markers… it’s all meant to make life more organized in the prettiest way possible. I’m using mine religiously now and it’s really helping keep me on track. If you missed the blog post about the planner and this company, here it is.
TEN:: Statement Earrings
June was the month in which I left the little studs and smaller earrings behind in favor of large statement earrings with tassels and bold colors. I’m so feeling all the different styles and designs that are available now. This is definitely going to be a constant trend for me this summer.
