Taking Chances

There are days when I feel the need to stick with the tried and true outfit combinations. And then there are days when I want to try something different, or at least different for me. This outfit is one such moment. I knew I wanted to wear the polka dot skirt for a presentation I was giving on social media to a group of high school students. The rest… well, I just wasn’t sure. I tried on a number of different tops and didn’t like the looks of any of them. In despair I slipped on this shirt with the plan to change skirts but then I liked the large color-blocked shirt paired with the polka dot skirt and an outfit was born. The accessories fell into place and I went with the chunky gladiator-styled wedges to add a little edge to the skirt.

The look is different for me, but I really liked it. Certainly repeatable. And I got a couple compliments on the look too - so at least I know it wasn’t just me and the mirror who thought this was fun.

Tip: When it comes to mixing two things that wouldn’t normally be paired together go with items you are comfortable with for your first attempt. Because, even if it doesn’t work at least you will feel great in it.

I love this look! The color blocking and the polka dots work really nicely together! Don’t you love when outfits come from accidental pairings? I definitely agree with your “go with what you’re first comfortable in”, even though sometimes, it means going back to it.

I think stripes not good for polka dots.. Maybe you should wear plain on the upper.. A plain black made of silk maybe.. You will look more thinner on it.

This outfit… Isn’t good. You make lovely polyvore sets like the what to wear to a wedding one, but when you post pictures of what you actually wear :/

you tend to look frumpy and age yourself about 15 years. There is something about your outfits that look cheap, instead of trying to be stylish and trendy you’d be better off buying some better quality classics.

Also I think it’s telling that your outfit posts get the fewest comments, your person style isn’t resonating with your readers.
