I realized the other day as I sifted through my closet that, denim excluded, I didn’t own a single pair of pants. Odd. I know. Since I am usually more of a jeans on weekdays and skirt/dress girl when it is time to get all dolled up, pants have taken a back seat. And yet, there are days that call for something a little dressier than even the best dark wash denim and moments when I just don’t feel like adding all the tights/leggings/boot layers that are required when wearing a dress in winter. I made it a goal to purchase a couple pairs of easy-to-wear versatile pants that could be used for just such a moment.

These wide-leg black pants are a dream. While they flow, they are not overly baggy. One of the keys to buying a great pair of wide-leg pants it making sure they fit well in the waist and hip area and flow out from there. I had a pair a couple years ago that I wore and loved, but once I lost weight, even though they were meant to be baggy, they just looked ridiculous. It’s important the wide-legs fit well up top.

For the first go-round, I paired the pants with a cobalt blouse, with part of the tails tucked in to give the whole look a more tailored feel. Untucked it was all just a baggy nightmare. Pair that with this totally fun bag from OASAP - the inner journalist in me squealed in delight at seeing it - are the outfit is complete.

And doesn’t the day sometimes just call for over-sized sunnies? When I have a headache or the sun is super bright I always opt for these Gucci Rectangle Sunglasses.

Are you going for the wide-leg trend this Spring? I love these black pants but I’m not sure I can take the plunge into white wide-leg, which were all the rage on the runway.

I really like the comfy look of the wide legged pants! I too have a closet full of dresses and skirts…they are comfortable and can be dressed up or down pretty easily. I need to increase my pants options! Love the cobalt blue of your blouse too! I read that shade is totally “in” for this spring!

I used to wear pants like that for work and miss them. I should trade my yoga pants back in for some of those…maybe I will feel more ready to take on the day.

I have never been much of a skirt person myself. Those pants are fantastic. I like that they have just enough of a flare.

I LIVE in the standard black pant so I this post was fabulous. But it did point out maybe I should trade some of my pants for skirts.
