Now that the weather is shaping up to be in the mid-40s most days, I’m ditching the tights and leggings as a warmth-adding layer and going with pants that are lighter in weight while still providing full coverage. This pair of high-rise, wide-leg black pants are my newest go-to for those days and I can’t wait to find a whole slue of ways to wear them as the days continue to warm up and the flowers begin to blossom.

Beyond jeans, I’m not really a fan of pants. I think too often it is difficult to find a fit that is flattering. You either get a pair that fits right in the back or at the waist and is then hideous from the front. Or you find a pair that is just right in the front and is so tight on the backside that it should be a crime. It takes time and a whole lot of patience to get a perfect pair of pants. As a result, I own very few pairs of pants.

For me, wide-leg black pants seem to be the solution. Since they are meant to fit in a more billowy way they tend to fit well both in the front and the back - bonus for me!! Plus these are remarkably long enough for my LONG legs to wear WITH heels. Honestly, that almost NEVER happens for me. The high waist style is flattering both with the top is tucked in - to highlight the high waist - or when the top is left untucked, lengthening the torso a bit. (Since I have a short torso and long legs, I tend to leave my tops untucked.
Don’t mind the sunspot my camera caught. Every pic has that little spot, but I loved the look too much not to share.
So tell me… where do you find pants that fit and flatter?

Love those pants on you! On me, they’d look ridiculous (I am all of 5’4″), and long-waisted to boot. But that’s what style is all about, right?!
That sun artefact makes for a fabulous effect in the last picture, so glad you kept it in there xx
