My latest Karina dress is certainly a new favorite. The colorful pattern adds vibrancy to the season while the orange red colors take the pattern, which might be seen as more of a Spring design, and make it perfect for the fall. Completing the outfit took a little more foresight. At first I debated putting it with a green vegan leather jacket but it ended up being too much color and a little too out-there for my style. Then I decided to pull in the very subtle black coloring which outlines the orange leaves. The batwing sweater, black tights and black booties helped tone the entire pattern down and make the thin material more appropriate for the cold months.

The halter-style neckline and swirling, flowing skirt reminds me of the iconic Marilyn Monroe dress. (I had to hold it in place while walking to the train yesterday afternoon because of the strong wind current trying to replicate the famous photo.)

Sometimes it amazes me the outfits that get the most amount of compliments. Sometimes I’ll wear a look that I am in love with and not hear a single word of sartorial encouragement, while other times I might like something but not be wild about every aspect of it but receive several compliments. This outfit is one such example. I wasn’t sure it all worked together but a number of people yesterday commented on the gorgeous dress and the overall look. Certainly the dress will make it into the outfit repeat category.
