Spring Transitional Dress - Burlington Style

Burlington Style - Styling a chambray dress from winter to summer. When we hit March I find myself so ready to retire the tights, to ditch the boots, to pack away the wool and the cashmere. I am more than ready to don summer dresses, to strap on a great pair of wedges, to re-introduce bright florals to my closet. But March is still cold, at least here in the Chicagoland area, which means sandals, summer dresses and bare legs is not a reality. But, since I still crave a closet change, this is the time when I begin finding ways to bring in some great spring pieces and mix them with winter fixtures.

Burlington Style - Styling a chambray dress from winter to summer. If you haven’t noticed yet, denim and chambray dresses are making a comeback in a really big way this Spring! So I snagged this perfect chambray dress from Burlington. While the sleeves are long, the material is still too thin to wear alone right now. The dress, at this stage of the year, needs add-ons, so I grabbed the leopard-print scarf, which can carry me through all 4 seasons; the vegan leather leggings, which are a perfect addition for the cold months; as well as the oversized cable-knit sweater. (The chambray shirt dress sells for $29.99)

The black skirt and blanket scarf have been a wardrobe staple this winter, and they work really well layered over the dress. I actually wore the layered sweater look and then the skirt/scarf look on consecutive days and no one noticed I was using the chambray dress twice on the same weekend.

For the Spring, this is going to be even easier to style. The Chambray dress can be paired with a great pair of skinny colored cropped jeans and a pair of wedge sandals. It could be worn layered under a tulle or floral skirt with the sleeves rolled up. It can be worn alone as a simple slip-on dress. Really, the possibilities are endless for styling this piece.

Shh… I also snagged a pair of black gaucho pants that are going to be PERFECT with a great pair of heels once the weather officially turns to the warm side of the spectrum.

What’s your Burlington style? Have you visited the store lately and checked out the spring styles?

I love how you have a comfy yet casual look in the first few photos, but then you dress it up with the skirt (which is absolutely stunning by the way!) These are great looks as we move from winter to spring!

I think I need that dress…. we are heading into autumn, so layerable options are needed.

If there is something that is so risky with Spring fashion trends is that missing something small could spoil it all, but that Burlington style is trendy. I must also say that I am kinda obsessed with that skirt :)
    Thanks for sharing.
