Army Green Pleated Skirt

Beyond black, which is pretty much a wardrobe staple, army green seems to be the next most prominent color in my closet. I’m not sure what it is about the shade - perhaps it is the years I actually spent wearing camo and hunting with my dad, maybe it is the relatives who have served in the military, perhaps it’s just a color I like. But whatever the reason, I have a number of items in my closet in this color.

Skirt: Target
Shirt: Target
Jacket: New York & Co.
Shoes: DSW (Nine West, I believe)
Bag: Adora Bags
Watch: DKNY
Earrings: Claire’s
Necklace: gifted from a friend
Sunnies: Tom Ford

Why not add one more? This pleated, midi skirt in army green is going to be a summer staple - I can tell already. It’s easy to wear and feels amazing on. It’s a very feminine midi-length, making it perfect with a great pair of heels. It’s dressy looking, although completely casual feeling. It can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the top it’s paired with and the accessories used. And it was inexpensive.

Another bonus of this skirt? It comes with a built-in slip layer, so no need to add another layer underneath in the warmer months to make sure it isn’t entirely sheer. The slip is a little more fitted than the skirt, which allows for the pleats to flow and float around as you walk without the interference of the other layer.

What color, beyond the assumed basics do you have in your closet as a classic standard for your wardrobe? Would an army green pleated skirt work in your closet?
