This summer, for the first time since my high school days I have nothing big planned. No camps to attend/volunteer at, no tutoring programs, no exotic trips that require plane travel. Nope, I’m laying low this summer. Part of that is to work on figuring out these dang migraines which want to control my life. And part of it is to take a much-needed rest after the craziness of the rest of the year. Don’t worry, it doesn’t mean every day, all day at the beach. I’m still working on the blog and lesson planning for next year.
Summer Sweater: Vince Camuto

Necklace: Adia Kibur (sold out but this one is similar.)
Earrings: Stella & Dot
Bag: ?? Gift from a friend who was purging her closet.
That rest and relaxed mentality that I am in the midst of has played a huge role in the clothing I’m reaching for this summer. My style - which is usually more about high heels and adorable skirts or dresses, has morphed more into the comfy chi category.
Take this outfit for example, I have worn this Vince Camuto summer sweater at least a handful of times since getting it less than a month ago. It’s just too easy and too comfortable to pass up. It goes will with more fitted denim or tapered-leg pants but it also works well with a pencil skirt or even layered over a sheath dress. And it’s comfortable. But like really comfortable.
I’m not sure what this means for my style come the fall, perhaps I’ll fall back into the persona of the teacher given the ‘stiletto award’ for always being in heels. Perhaps I’ll move more toward this comfy chic option, which certainly gives a more laid back feel to any day. Oh, who am I kidding, I’m sure I’ll be back to the dresses and heels, but for now I’m enjoying oversized sweaters and tees.
