One of my favorite things about blogging is coming across new designers and fashionistas, like Mimi Miller. This womenswear line is based in Northern Virginia and was founded on the ideas of modernity, reinvention, and femininity for women. Mimi Miller’s mission is to reinvent classic silhouettes for the modern woman while filling the market’s need for longer hemlines. The company believes in slow fashion and investment pieces - all things I can seriously get behind.
Mimi Miller makes tops, bottoms and dresses - a few of each of these items. Three shirt designs, two skirt designs and one dress. I got the chance to review the Alessa Skirt - a full midi skirt in a gorgeous cranberry color. It is going to be an easy-to-reach-for item this fall and winter.
Not only does Mimi Miller make beautiful clothing items, but Mimi sources textiles of the highest quality from around the globe. The company has partnered with a Washington, D.C. manufacturer to support the local community, and to ensure that the apparel meets the company’s requirements for ethically produced apparel. Awesome, right?!
Overall Mimi Miller items are meant to be pieces that are not only relevant for the current season, but will be for many years to come. Have to love a clothing item that is classic and well-made, meant to last years and years; rather than trendy pieces that are only good for a season or two.
