With all my love for fashion, I have to admit to not actually owning a wrap dress. I know these are the infamous statement-pieces that Diane Von Furstenberg has turned into a fashion-staple, but it hasn’t been something I felt was flattering or particularly attractive.
To stretch my fashion comfort zone, I opted for this Karina wrap dress, called Gala. The dress is knee-length on my tall frame, which is always something I appreciate. It’s sweetheart neckline ran a little low for me but a simple cami helped rectify that situation.
The dress, amazingly enough, is a one-size fits all. I was totally skeptical of that! How in the world could one dress fit a woman who is a size 2 and one that is a size 12? I’m still not sure it would flatter each size similarly. The dress does have side seams under the arms so I think that could look funky if they are wrapped toward the front. (Hmm.. maybe I should have my tiny sister try it on and see what it looks like on a smaller form.)
The biggest adjustment to wrap dress living… trying to figure out how to sit, climb in and out of the car, or generally move in any direction without having the dress slip and reveal a whole lot of tight-covered leg. The first time I sat in this dress I was quickly reaching to move the material into place. After that first time I was more aware of the need to hold the dress in place while sitting. It took a couple attempts of climbing in and out of the car before I got that down too.
While I’m jumping into this party a little late, this Karina dress post is part of the 10th Round of the Karina Dresses Dresstacular™ where one winner will win 6 dresses. The giveaway starts April 8th! (Stay tuned for future review posts about Karina dresses and the giveaway!)

The dress looks very flattering on you and I like the color/pattern. I never realized the ins and outs of a wrap dress, but then I have to admit I’ve never worn one. Heck I don’t wear dresses that often either but when I need one, I might just check out Karina dresses.

Gorgeous color, especially with that scarf! I admit to being a bit skeptical of one size fits all, but maybe a bit of hemming would make it work for us short people?
