For the party I co-hosted last week we decided to serve warm apple cider and two types of sangria - my go-to White Sangria and a new concoction I’m calling Christmas Cranberry Sangria. The red color and the fruit infusion was a huge hit at the party and deliciously refreshing.
Christmas Cranberry Sangria
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle of inexpensive red wine (your call on the specific kind, I went with Barefoot’s Sweet Red)
- 1 bottle of lemonade (I used Simply Orange’s lemonade, because it is so delicious!)
- 1 lemon
- 2 limes
- 1 orange
- 1 granny smith apple
- 1/2 package of fresh cranberries
- 1 small carton of blueberries
Directions:
- Best to prepare the night before in order to give the fruit time to seep into the entire mix, and become infused with alcohol.
- Dump the win and lemonade into the pitcher.
- Cut the lemon, limes, orange and apple into slices, and then place into the liquid mizture. You can cut them into chunks if you want guests to have the fruit floating in their glasses. I opted more for the pretty appeal of these fruits floating in the sangria, than filling the glasses.
- Rinse the cranberries and blueberries, then add them to the mix.
- Gently mix the fruit around a little.
- Let sit over night in the fridge, or outside if it is cold enough.
- Pour and enjoy!
Need other drink recipe inspiration? The White Sangria is a serious winner at all times of the year. Or how about two different Apple Martinis? Or my personal favorite, a S’mores Martini.
