While these days I’m on a 90% Paleo diet, the 10% that isn’t entirely in line with the caveman diet is the little bit of dairy I consume. I can’t live without a slice of cheese or the protein-packed Greek yogurt, I consume from time to time.

But let’s be honest, a cup of yogurt is great but it can be pretty boring. That’s why it’s time to think about how to 1-Up your cup. There are hundreds of simple and delicious ways to get in your yogurt fix, consume a little needed protein but also have a tasty, even healthy treat for after lunch, or your middle of the day snack. (Is it just me or is anyone else starving by the time 3pm rolls around?) With more than 125 flavor and yogurt option, Yoplait Yogurt has you covered. 5 Ways to 1-Up Your Cup:

Choco-Coconut (inspired by one of my favorite candy bars)

  • 1 Cup of Coconut Greek Yoplait Yogurt (for a little less coconut flavor, switch this out for plain yogurt)
  • A sprinkling of fresh coconut flakes
  • A sprinkling of dark chocolate chips or flakes

Tropical Vacation (inspired by the fact that it is frigidly cold and icy out right now)

  • 1 Cup of Pina Colada Greek Yoplait Yogurt
  • A couple diced pineapple pieces
  • A sprinkling of pomegranate seeds
  • A couple diced kiwi pieces
  • A sprinkling of fresh coconut flakes

Coffee, Coffee. Buzz, Buzz. (inspired by the fact that I gave up real coffee at the New Year and I miss it)

  • 1 Cup of Cafe Mocha Greek Yoplait Yogurt
  • A sprinkling of dark chocolate chips or flakes
  • A sprinkling of chopped chocolate-covered coffee beans (or switch out for some instant coffee grounds, decaf or regular)

Cherry Kiss (inspired by the upcoming Valentine’s Day)

  • 1 cup of Cherry Greek Yoplait Yogurt
  • A couple chopped cocktail cherries
  • A sprinkling of dark chocolate chips or flakes
  • A drizzle of chocolate syrup

Lemony Zest (inspired by a gelato flavor I tried once and loved)

  • 1 cup of Lemon Meringue Greek Yoplait Yogurt
  • A sprinkling of fresh raspberries
  • A sprinkling of chopped cashews

Thinking less of a snack and more along the meal wavelength? Not a problem. You can now only 1-Up Your Cup, but you can flip it and 1-Up your meal with the help of Yoplait yogurts. Try these two simple recipes for a fresh taste this winter and any time of the year.

Two Ways to 1-Up Your Meal

Winter Fruit Salad (use the yogurt to coat and cover the fruit salad as a dish the whole family can enjoy)

  • 1 Cup of Plain Greek Yoplait Yogurt (or substitute for vanilla or honey flavors for a little more sweetness)
  • 1 diced pineapple
  • 4-5 diced kiwi
  • A handful of chopped cranberries
  • 2 diced grapefruits
  • 1 cup of pomegranate seeds
  • 2 apples diced

 

Green Side Salad (use the yogurt mixing it into the salad instead of dressing)

  • 1 Cup of Plain Greek Yoplait Yogurt
  • 2 chopped avocados
  • 2 thinly sliced cucumbers
  • 2 cups of cabbage shredded
  • 2 chopped celery stalks
  • A sprinkling of finely chopped dill

 

Of course, all these things can be purchased at WalMart, which is an easy stop for me on my way to work in the morning. It’s simple to swing in and grab a couple cups, while keeping the add-ins in my desk. Sprinkle a couple things into the cup for my afternoon snack and I’m good to go until dinner. Taking into account all the yogurts Yoplait makes there are 125 flavor options for you to get creative with. Personally, I always go with the Greek yogurts because they tend to have more protein, and often less sugars. For example, a cup of Coconut Greek Yogurt has 11 grams of Protein, 19 grams of sugar and only 1 gram of fat.
