Pearls! When I was in high school, there was a general consensus among the students that only the old, out-of-touch teachers wore pearls. And they wore them a lot! I’ll be the first to admit that started a personal 10-year avoidance of anything and everything pearl related. But now, more and more I find myself wishing these beauties were a usual part of my outfit creation.
The dawning of the greatness and chicness of pearls can actually be fully blamed on my brother-in-law who decided to get my sister pearls for her 30th birthday. I know pearls are the 30th anniversary gift - my dad bought my mom a lovely strand a few years back - but I had never heard of gifting them for a 30th birthday too. But in the end she received a stunning strand of pearls, which had me dreaming of all the different ways pearls can be incorporated into an outfit.
Morana Online is taking pearls to a whole new and modern level, with stunning designs and visually appealing looks. My preconceived notions about pearls and old people is forever changed. Now I’m thinking pearls need to be a part of my usual accessory rotation.
5 Modern Ways to Wear Pearls:
Channel Your Inner Flapper. Take a really long strand of pearls and knot it toward the end. To me, it offers a 1920’s throw-back look. To give it a truly modern edge try also layering it with other non-pearl pieces.
Go Big. Forget the dainty little strand of matching white pearls. Instead, opt for one large pearl on a gold or silver chain. It makes for a really modern and somewhat edgy twist to the pearl trend. Personally, this is my favorite look of them all!
Make a Statement. Pearls can be worked into a larger overall necklace, like the one below. I love how it uses several small pearls to create one of several design elements in the piece. This is certainly above and beyond the typical stand of pearls. Plus something like this could be easily worn dressed up to a party or with jeans on the weekend.
Layer Them Up. With layering necklace being a popular and fairly easy-to-pull-off trend, you can apply that to pearls too. Add a strand, a short bar-style pearl necklace and even a single little pearl bauble necklace to create multiple focal points. Take it a step further and coordinate your bracelet and or earrings with the pearl theme.
Ditch the Necklace for Another Kind of Bauble. Why do we always easily associate pearls with a strand around the neck? Skip the necklace option and instead try for a bracelet or ring. You can stack them together or wear them alone for one little point of interest.

I love pearls!! These more modern ideas are great! That statement necklace and those rings are to die for!
Lovely post, I think they all look cute! If I would buy new ones, I would definitely check if they have any certificate, so I can buy them without any bad feelings.
Last time I wear pearls was when I was in the University. Not a big fan though your ideas convince me to try them again.
