Off-Duty Outfit: Cuffed Denim and a Cable Knit Sweater

maroon-cable-knit-sweater10In response to yesterday’s post about Why I Dress Up as a Teacher, and just to prove that I do actually dress down on occasion, here is one of my most standard off-duty outfit: a pair of perfect denim, a comfy cable knit sweater, and booties. Simple, easy, done.

Denim: Rag & Bone ‘The Dre Boyfriend Jean’
Sweater: 525 America
Booties: Sam Edelman
Bag: Mimi Boutique

maroon-cable-knit-sweater5True, it is not the sweatpants or yoga pants most people tend to slip into when relaxing on the weekends, but I don’t love that look for me. I don’t feel comfortable in athleisure wear except at the gym or just before bed. Usually it leaves me feeling frumpy and unfeminine. But, hey, that’s just me.

maroon-cable-knit-sweater16 maroon-cable-knit-sweater6 These jeans are my absolute favorite pair in my closet. They work all year round. For the winter they are perfect tucked into tall boots or cuffed with little booties. For the summer months they are perfect cuffed with wedges or completely unrolled with flats. In the fall I wore these pants paired with a hunter-green blouse and a floral puffy vest. And in late summer I wore them with my favorite ‘but first coffee’ sweater. And there are at least a dozen other outfits, that never got photographed.

This is a cute outfit! I love the cuffed jeans with the boots so much. I also believed in dressing up as a teacher. It made me feel more professional. Now that I am retired I need to spruce up my casual wardrobe a bit. Thanks for the idea.

I love a cable knit sweater. The dark wash of your jeans goes great with that navy. You styled this really well.

Now that’s a cozy looking sweater! It’s totally feasible to be completely comfortable and completely stylish at the same time, and you’re living proof!
