Can you tell the summer is winding down and the school year is about to start up again? I’m neck-deep in lesson plans, attempting to re-create the Senior course and modify some of the lessons for my Freshmen and Juniors. Needless to say, most days this month have been spent in front of a computer surrounded by a pile of books and personal notes with more than a dozen tabs open on my browser. Personally, I’m looking forward to being done with this aspect and back in the classroom where it is a lot more fun to teach the lessons than to plan them.

Since I’m pretty much home-bound during the week days, I’m honestly most days in some combination of shorts and a t-shirt. Not too glamorous, but it keeps me cool while the air conditioning is broken. But last week, I had a meeting to talk social media strategies which got me out of the house and a little dressed up. I opted for the simple cropped jeans and this floral tunic blouse. Since the day before I ended up walking 4 miles in fancy sandals in the middle of the summer heat and blistering my feet something awful (it’s a long story but suffice to say adulting is no fun) I needed to wear something that would cushion my feet and hide the blisters that were on the tops and bottoms of both feet. These shockingly pink shoes were the best option. They offered support and cushioning for my feet without being the running shoes I only wear to the gym.
