Baby, it’s seriously cold outside now! No, like single digits cold. And that means layers, lots and lots of layers. I snagged this reversible plaid poncho from Kohls last month and have been using it as an added layer ever since.

I like how these ponchos are so in right now. Basically, its fashionable to wear a comfy, warm blanket as a clothing item - not a bad choice in the frigid winter months. And since winter in Chicago seems to last at least a good 4 months, this is one item that I’ll be wearing often in the weeks ahead.

Plus, the red side of this reversible plaid poncho adds a little festive cheer to any simple look. Beyond being paired with black pants and a denim shirt, I’ve worn this poncho with a simple black dress and tights, a gray midi dress, denim and a long sleeved t-shirt. I’m sure I’ll come up with a handful of other combinations before the Spring weather makes an appearance again.
