3 Ways to Wear Wide-Leg Linen Pants

I took this pair of wide-leg linen pants with me on vacation last month. And while I find linen challenging to wear because of the wrinkle factor, it is also an amazingly comfortable material to be in all day.

To be honest, this pair of wide-leg, cropped linen pants spoke to me as soon as I saw them on ShopBop in June, but when they arrived in the mail I wasn’t exactly sure how to wear them. The wide-leg pant style can tend to look a little frumpy or shapeless. And a cropped pant can make your legs look shorter than they actually are. To combat those two issues, pairing this pair of pants with heels was definitely the way to go.

Beyond the heels, it is also helpful to make sure that the top is a little more fitted or at least offers the allusion of a waist, in order to not make it look like you are shapeless. The cactus blouse has more volume and less shape, but tied at the bottom, it helps create a little more dimension. The shawl on the other hand, works well since it was paired with a more fitted t-shirt underneath. Plus, that was the PERFECT outfit for days when you are going from the cold air conditioning to the warm outdoors multiple times. Just slip the shawl off for the outdoor moments and put it back on when you get inside.

Now that I am home, I’m looking forward to finding different ways to style these wide-leg linen pants for the office or for a backyard BBQ. They are certainly cool enough for an outdoor party but also formal enough for the workplace. And you know I love clothing items that work well for multiple types of events and occasions.
